The following are some Christmas questions I found at Root Report! I thought it would be a fun post and something different to hear us up for the week before Christmas!
As a kid, did a sibling ever receive a present that you wished was for you?
Not that I can remember. I’m sure there was at one point but nothing that jumps out at me.
Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Giving, 100%! I don’t like surprises and although I make a list I never know what I will end up off of that list. I just like seeing people’s reactions to what we pick out for them.
Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
No, I don’t. The couple times that I have I did not stick with them so I just don’t waste my time anymore.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
We used to visit with my husband’s grandparents on Christmas Eve but after losing three of his grandparents we haven’t been doing this. So now it is just Christmas morning.
Do you visit a poor people places on Christmas day?
We do not visit with anyone except family on Christmas Day. We have a pretty busy day just meeting with family.
Have you ever made a snowman?
Umm, yes. A lot of snowmen. Growing up in Ohio there wasn’t a winter without snow.. so yeah.
Do you decorate your house on a certain day?
Generally we wait until after Thanksgiving to put up Christmas but we do not have a set day that we put stuff up.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Definitely fake. I have never had a real Christmas tree, that I can remember. The idea of having a real Christmas tree is lovely, however very intimidating.
Most memorable Holiday moment?
Honestly, just seeing my kids on Christmas morning. I love watching them run down the hallway and their faces when they see what Santa brought them.
Tell me about a person who makes your Christmas day very special?
My husband. December has always been a hard month for me because I lost my grandpa in December when I was 11. It has always caused Christmas to be something that I don’t look forward to. My husband loves Christmas and he helps bring back some of that holiday magic for me.
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Cookie baking, Grinchmas (we had this a couple weeks ago), Christmas movies, quality time with my family.
What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
My mustangs. Yes, plural. I don’t know that anyone will ever be able to top those gifts.
What is the worst present you’ve ever received?
I don’t think I would classify anything’s I’ve received as a bad gift. I am very appreciative of any and all gifts I’ve ever gotten.
What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
All of it? I am excited all year for both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner and desserts.
What is your favorite Christmas film?
Traditional movies.. probably The Santa Clause. However, I am a SUCKER for a cheesy Netflix/Hallmark/Lifetime movie.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.
What is your favorite thing about Christmas?
Quality family time, for sure.
What makes the holidays special for you?
Family, memories, fun.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Hmm. Take me bath south for the Christmas season. Christmas time in Florida was gorgeous.
What do you like the most, staying at home with your family or traveling with them on Christmas?
Probably staying home. Traveling is not my favorite but honestly as long as I am with my family it doesn’t matter where we are.
What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
All of it!
When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
Well, this year is not a good example because bleh but normally I start getting excited once it starts cooling off because I know the holidays are getting close!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
We usually spend Christmas at both of our parents and our house.
You have been granted one Christmas wish…what will it be?
One last Christmas with my grandparents.
