Whew. We made it another year here at OCM!
2019 brought me a lot of overwhelm, both in life and with my blog. I had set goals for OCM in 2019 that I didn’t meet and I kicked my ass every time I didn’t meet one.
Let’s recap on what those goals were
2019 Goals
- Reach 4,000 views
- Reach 250 followers
- Colaborate/guest blog with other bloggers
- Interact by sharing, liking, and commenting on fellow bloggers posts.
- Continue posting twice a week on a Tuesday & Thursday schedule.
How did I do?
I met my views goal. I finished off 2019 with 4,802 views. Which is up 2,020 from 2018. I’d say that’s pretty good, especially considering I’ve had 8,680 views TOTAL over the course of SEVEN years of blogging. 2019 has been, BY FAR, my best year yet. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here thinking I’ve totally tanked this year!
I wanted to reach 250 followers and I ended 2019 with 400!!! I ended 2018 with 228 followers which means I gained 172! That’s amazing y’all! I guess one of my goals for next year should be to keep up with my stats! 🤣
I did collaborate, some. I started the mental health series and while the people who helped me are not bloggers, they helped me in ways they’ll never know! I can always do more, though.
As for promoting and interacting, I fell off that bandwagon. I definitely need to work more on this throughout 2020.
Twice a week.. Nope. I definitely didn’t meet that goal. This is why I am striving for one post a week to start this year off. If I can add to that, then I will but I don’t want to force myself to write because then I see my blog as a chore and it just isn’t fun anymore.

- 500 followers
- Post once a week
- Collaborate/guest post at least 3 times
- INTERACT with bloggers I follow and follow new blogs!
- Track stats monthly
