Mental Health Series

As a result of a conversation that I had a couple weeks back I wanted to start a series on my blog that focused solely on mental health. There are so many misconceptions and assumptions about mental health and how it affects us on a daily basis. I wanted to shine light on the truth about mental health and go deeper than you would by googling the disorder you were curious about.

So, my plan for this is to post a blog once a month about a certain mental health disease with real experiences and that’s where you come in, if you decide to participate and help. Yeah, I could jump on google or any other browser and search about all of the different diseases but I know that even within the same disease the picture looks different for everyone. So I want to share multiple experiences of each disease to educate people and spread awareness and let people know it’s OKAY to talk about it, it’s OKAY to feel this way, and it’s OKAY if you’re scared. We all are.

For example, I suffer with anxiety and depression. So I would write up what that looks like for me and I’d also share other peoples versions of anxiety & depression. So that people get multiple big pictures and experiences because I think people see “I have depression.” and categorize you with EVERYONE who has it even though everyone’s experiences with it are different.

I hope this makes sense! & everything would be kept anonymous unless you tell me otherwise!

  1. I am truly excited for you!
A while back I started a series dedicated to ‘parenting with addiction’ or at least the struggles I personally have faced as a recovering addict and mother. I cannot put into words how helpful it has been in my recovery process, let alone the support I’ve been able to be a part of for others.
Can’t wait to read more from you and learn with you!
